In my ongoing quest to pinch a penny, I’ve recently switched from cable internets to dsl. The actual savings only amounts to about fifteen smackers a month, but still. It adds up, as they say. As I went about the business of making the switch, I was certain it would end up being one of those situations that proved to be a pain in the ass. Sure enough, there were problems necessitating hours of phone calls and culminating in a visit from the repairman.
The repairman and I seized the opportunity to spend some time together down in my basement, a place I found fascinating and the repairman deemed “creepy.” What I found most wonderful is that, upon not even that close of inspection, one can observe stickers bearing the name of Richard M. Daley, permamayor, affixed to each and every gas and electric meter. It is heartwarming to see the permamayor’s Quest To Put His Name On Everything In The City™ leaves not even my apartment building’s basement untouched.
